Prep Team
| Members of the prep team prepare and gather materials for Kids’ Cove small group activities. Instructions and a list of materials needed are included in the curriculum for each grade level. Tasks involve gathering props (most of which are here on site), making photocopies and cutting apart and gathering individual items for each child.
Time Commitment – This is a monthly rotational team serving about 2 hours during the week. You set your own hours anytime Monday-Thursday when the church is open. Everything should be ready by noon on Thursday prior to that Sunday’s lesson. |

Information and Registration Team
A portion of this team mans the Kids’ Cove Information Desk and directs guests to the appropriate class. They also field any questions about the ministry, serve as greeters and register guests and newcomers. Registration hosts stand at each of the classroom doors with a list of the children for that class. Time Commitment – This is a monthly rotational team and the frequency of rotation depends on the number of volunteers. Team members need to be in place by 7:45 a.m. for the first service, 9:15 a.m. for the second service and 10:45 a.m. for the third.

Audio/Visual Team
This team runs the sound, power point and video presentations in The Lake House (2nd/3rd grade) and The Swamp (4th/5th grade classes). Instructions are provided for these volunteers to follow throughout the hour. Time Commitment – This could be a rotational team and the frequency of rotation depends on the number of volunteers. That week’s volunteers need to be in place by 9:15 a.m. for the second service and 10:45 a.m. for the third service.

Worship Team
Do you play guitar, drums or have vocal talent? You can help lead music for any of our grades. Song suggestions are included in the curriculum. Many of the songs include hand and body motions to get the children more involved in worship through song. Time Commitment – Each grade learns about 10 songs per year. This could be a rotational team based on the number of volunteers.

Storyteller
The storyteller presents the bible story using props, costumes and dramatic flair. The script is provided and is approximately 20-25 minutes. All props and materials are provided. No need to gather them yourself. Time Commitment – It’s a rotational schedule where the storyteller serves once a month during the second and third services. Preparation involves learning the script at home and sometimes dress rehearsal with the area coordinator.

Host |
The host segment during large group introduces the monthly virtue, memory verse and bottom line using humor and dramatic flair every week. The host wraps up the lesson of the day. The purpose of the host segment is to make a connection for the kids. Time Commitment – The host serves weekly at either the 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service for the school term and/or a summer session.

Small Group Leader
This volunteer shepherds the same group of kids each week. The small group leader takes the story that has been presented by the storyteller and puts it into action through planned activities that reinforce the weekly bottom line. All materials are provided. Time Commitment - 1 1/2 hours each Sunday for the school term and/ or a summer session. Preparation involves reading the activities and weekly email from your area coordinator. Substitutes are allowed to fill in for you.
