Weekend Update 2.17.12

Hey Everybody,

We got off to a great start last week with our three week Love and War marriage series. The pastors' martial pet peeves video certainly generated a lot of comments! More importantly than a few laughs, I believe Sundays message (and yes, even the video) opened the door to honestly facing the struggles and imperfections, along with the joys, which make up even the best of marriages. This Sunday will feature more clips from the interviews with the pastors and Stephen Hampton, our Chase campus pastor, will be teaching on the subject "Make Love not War". Our alternative working title for this Sunday was Smokin' Hot Marriage! We will be learning about the biblical view of sexual intimacy as God's design and gift. Again, this week, we encourage parents to use their own discretion regarding this subject matter's appropriateness for their kids in the service. Don't worry, the content or language used will not be graphic in nature, but we don't want the subject matter itself to catch anyone off guard.

Also, congratulations to the winners of last week's contest on best proposal story, Mark and Suzanne Colbath. They received dinner for two at Tortoras. This week's question is: What is the most romantic thing (gift, surprise, gesture, etc.) your spouse has ever done for you? Reply to this email or go on our Facebook page to post the story. Make sure to include the juicy details (the appropriate ones that is!), since the best story wins!

Finally, married couples, don't forget to join us for The Love Boat event coming up a week from tonight, Friday, February 24 at 6:30 pm. This date night will be great fun for you and your spouse and will also be an opportunity to see old friends and make some new ones. The event is free, but you must register at http://covechurch.com/theloveboat .

See You Sunday!
